Wasn't it Ron Bass writ backwards who wrote:
I'm curious about the entry for Robert J A DURANT that appears in both
the Ancestry and LDS indexes for the 1881 census. Both indexes show
him as being a 21 year old medial student, boarding in the home of
George Armfield SMITH at 77 Akerman Rd, Lambeth. In both
indexes, the reference is RG11/061/157/52.

However, when I look at the image that Ancestry has for this page,
there is no evidence of Robert DURANT in this household. And, no,
he's not on the previous page, either. It seems as if the folks who
contributed this page to the LDS transcription misplaced Robert (and
two other boarders).

Is there a transcription available for the 1881 census that isn't just
a copy of the LDS transcription? Could SKS find Robert J A DURANT and
give me an accurate reference for him?

RG11/612/4/1

Chas B Penny is listed as "boarder" instead of (presumably) "head", so
the whole 1 Burton St household has got tagged on to the end of 77
Akerman Rd.

Many thanks, Mike.

I believe Ancestry uses the LDS transcription of 1881.

Indeed they do. Which transcription did you use to find him, please?

Thanks, again
