In the 1881 Canadian census she was listed as a Native (my basic
assumption is she was born in Canada), and "if" there was a person in
her family line who was a lady in waiting it would be in the
generations prior to her. So what I think I'll do is take the
suggestions of many in here, and look for her parents. See if i can
find them anywhere first in the areas I know she lived in, and a
record of her prior to the 1881 census. Am searching through the 1851
census at the automated genealogy site now.
To answer your question, I was told she was born in England, but going
through the census records leads me to believe that was wrong, and
that it would have been at least one more generation back. I spoke
with my relative this morning, and she remembers her father, Mary
Annes grandson, telling her that there was someone who was a lady in
waiting, and she assumed it was Mary Anne.
Thanks,
Kathy
