For the last 2 days, Ancestry.co.uk has been frequently misbehaving for me when I've been doing BMD searches. It keeps returning "Your Search returned no matches" even when I am searching for a common name over a 20 year time frame.
I've just phoned them, and apparently it is a known fault, and they are working on it.

I've been having the same problem with the Complete 1837-1983 BMD search at Ancestry.

No matter what surname I search for it returns the error message:

"Your Search for Person returned no matches"

i.e. it appears to be assuming that the surname I'm searching for is "Person".

If it's of help to anyone else, I've found that I can sometimes get
useful results from the complete 1837-1983 search be switching back
and forth between "native mode" and IETab mode in firefox.

I found the same intermittent behaviour as well but just though it was Ancestry playing around. Obviously not.
I tried using IE and Opera instead but they had the same problem and do not have the option to switch.
