Yes, that's the problem about researching outside one's own professional area of knowledge. Jargon and reams of detail. I'm rather hoping that someone can shortcut me to a historical analysis that's relevant to the sixteenth century - otherwise, I guess it'll be a visit to my local uni library and a trawl through their catalogue (probably quicker and more productive than trying to filter through google).
