Subject: Marriage Witness Index - great news!
I have today received from Faye Guthrie in Australia the contents of
what should be the most complete version of the UK Witness Index, as
created and maintained by Ted Wildy.
Good to hear that something that a few of us have been pushing for over the past couple of years has come to pass.
However the question that remains is:
What happens to this and other data when John Prentice decides to close down his web site http://www.genealogy-britain.org.uk/ ?
Privately run databases all face this issue.
ideally a back up copy on Rootsweb where apprently Ted Wildy placed it originally
