This is very true, but is absolutely nothing whatever to do with the point
I was making. Relative to anyone standing up in Australia, the North pole
is beneath their feet. Why then put North at the top of a map of
Australia? Logically, I'm suggesting that South should be at the top of
their maps.
I'm wondering if this is part of the problem of 'northerners' having
difficulty with their sense of direction when map reading in the
southern hemisphere, that's all.
