Most people do not realise what a difference newsgroup harvesting is like.
They are more used to protected forums.
So its likely that those email addresses will become unuseable, and then
be dropped, which makes having them in the archive redundant.

You seem to be missing the point. What Jill was saying was that people
shouldn't really post OTHER peoples email addresses within a usenet
message - they may not be happy with, or indeed, prpared for the
possible level of spam they may receive as a result. The fact that you
are happy with whatever level of spam you receive shouldn't be taken
as being indicative of other peoples thoughts on the matter.
