How long did it take you to type that? :-) Looks like my normal typing but I would guess hard to do intentionally.

That's the human brain for you. It obviously realised that reading would be impractical if it had to process every letter in turn.
I think you can also lose all vowels in words over three letters long and the text still make sense. Drifting OT so I'll leave you to experiment.
