The pre-requisite for that is to be able to read the word in the first
place. Reading is all about pattern matching. To recognise a word you need
its pattern already stored in mind, or to be able to construct the word
letter by letter. Googling on what I *thought* the text read was of no use
as I didn't read the words as 'compeared' and 'vizt'.

I vaguely recall reading somewhere of a study that found the brain only
reads the start and end of words and fills in the gaps based on its pattern
store.
