Do both. You can control your ISPs free space and your upload (and corrections that will be needed in the future. You may not be able to control an upload to the ITI site (most likely).
Not sure how often google updates itself. Perhaps they have a report a page or add a page we missed option?
I would also remind you that this newsgroup could help "spread" the word. Your family names may be seen by another researcher in an archive on google.groups.
Also, check rootsweb message board to look at other looking at your family names.

I currently have around 5400 individuals in my "greater" tree in locations from Somerset to London to Manchester to New Amsterdam, loaded in a Legacy program. I now need (and would welcome) feedback from others who might be working on the same family lines.
My ISP offers 55Mb of free space. The Legacy program, converted to HTML pages, is 24Mb, so would fit easily. However, the local LDS Family History Centre have suggested they would like to upload the tree to their system.
Religious issues aside, does the team think it would provide more useful feedback to extend the tree if were loaded to their site, or to my own? How quickly would Google etc find my free pages, if that were the option? Presumably it would be easier to update my own pages as things progress?
