Does anyone know if it is possible to find an on-line map of Reading,
Berkshire for the mid-1800s ?
Scotland seems well provided with old maps by the National Library, but I
can't find any similar English source..

In 1975 Reading Library reproduced two plans of Reading. The origional of
one is dated 1840 and the other; 1861. I have a copy of each but they are
A3 and I don't have a scanner that size. Also, there's the matter of
copyright.
I suggest you try contacting them.. Address - Reading Central Library -
Kings Road - READING. Telephone - 0118 901 5950.
Hope that helps.
