I have been searching for a marriage between a William Solomon
(b.1833 Brighton) and Susannah Penelope Barnes (b. London 1833)
They had 4 children with the first being Christened:
William John Solomon
10 FEB 1861 Saint John The Baptist, Shoreditch, London, England
I cannot find a Christening record for the next 3 children ( John
Robert Solomon b.1862 Shoreditch, Maria Mary Solomon b.1863
Shoreditch, Annie Susannah Solomon b.1867 Shoreditch)
Would the Church have allowed a child to be Christened without the
parents being married ?
'the Church' isn't one body with one set of rules. But if you are
talking about CoE just pick a few parish records at random and you'll
find the answer.
Also I wonder why the first child was Christened
and not the next 3 ?
How do you know they didn't emigrate, move, change religious
affiliation, ...? How widely have you searched?
Don
