I've only just followed this lengthy thread and so, in my other replies, missed the fact that a "hedge" had mistakenly been brought into the equation. The phrase is actually "lyinge next the vicaridg and one thre yeard (sic) land of barleye".

PS and the word "woorple" is doubtless a variant of worple/warple meaning a lane so the yard land of barley abutted onto the parsonage lane. Technically, as I've said, the parsonage was the residence of a rector but unlike the word 'rectory' which was very specific, it might looseley, as here presumably, be used for the minister's residence.

The only slight oddity is the juxtaposition of the barley with the "chest which is bound of iron" since one would have expected this to have been separately mentioned following the word "Item."
