Thinking phonetically, how about "whirlpool"? Rapids in the stream?
Where is this? Can you find it at http://www.old-maps.co.uk/ or get to/
ask the relevant Local Studies library?

While I'm here, and although p[ar]sonage looks like the best bet, I'll
just throw in "pannage": "The feeding or the right of feeding swine in
a forest, or the payment for this; mast picked up by swine in a
forest" (Cassell's New English Dictionary c 1914).

Searching Wyrardisburye gives
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.epicure.demon.co.uk%2Fwraysburynames.html&ei=OuH2Rtb_FoOkwgGtmsCgDQ&usg=AFQjCNGMekbr68wxkWVZsBvRmRdbUBOH0Q&sig2=Y9KYKSbs08arHVA6WpzDyA

Please search on from the spellings in that link. Gives current location and name if done correctly.

That appears to be Wraysbury - situated between the reservoirs just of the west end of the Heathrow runways. Ouch! And Worple appears to be a local name. Although I can't find it on the increasingly tiresome old maps Google maps actually finds a small cul-de-sac called "The Worple".
