If you have him on censuses you should know his address (at least from the
later ones); have you considered looking on an old map or the nearby places
on the censuses? If he lived next door to a coal yard say . . . . then do
a trade directory search perhaps . . .

The old map site ( http://www.old-maps.co.uk/ used to have freely
downloadable 100 year old maps but now they charge. However, with
patience, it is still possible to search the maps. There might be other
sites with old maps I suppose.
