Anyone know the difference between FTM 2005/6 and the version sold
under the Who Do You Think You Are logo?
FTM 2006 US edition can be updated on line to FTM 16 asa freebie

The boxes sold in UK cannot becasue they have been localised with
different maps
and
for example linked to ancestry.co.uk not dot com

Thanks Hugh, just looking at the cheapest way of getting FTM on my
computer. BK will remain as my preferred chice but FTM does have some
facilities BK doesn't, plus my daughter uses FTM. Ebay has 2006 and
also, much cheaper, 2005 and the WDYTYA version.

Hi Kay,
Why not get Legacy, IMHO it is far better than FTM, I used to use FTM
but got sick of there policy of putting out a new version every year and
spamming you about it until you bought it.
I converted to Legacy SE and found that it was better than FTM in a
number of respects then I bought the Deluxe version and have not looked
back since.
I would rather spend my hard earned money on research than on constant
updates with little to no improvement in the software that Genealogy.com
aka Ancestry.com promotes via Family Tree Maker.

Genealogy.com aka Ancestry.com claim that FTM is the number one
Genealogical program they may as well say Pigs will fly to the moon and
back unassisted.
My answer to this is Yeah Right!!

Thought I'd already mentioned why I wanted FTM in particular. My not
too computer (AOL user) daughter uses FTM and the last gedcom I got
from her had lots of date events mixed up. So the future, to save me
work, must be to get her files in FTM format. I use BK myself and
don't intend changing. I've tried lots of others over the years and
settled on BK for ease of input.

Cheers

Kay
