On a separate matter: An older lady here in the US is trying to contact herHi GKM
relatives in the U.K. They may be dead for all she knows. She says they
lived in Winick, Cheshire, England. But they don't answer the phone number
she is using. I tried looking up the BT phone directory on the internet
without success. It didn't even seem to recognise that Winick existed. Any
suggestions? She knows the first names and surname. And the name of a
hospital where one of them used to work.

As someone else has pointed out to you the place in the UK the older
lady in the US is looking for is probably Winwick - in the UK this
will be pronounced Winick - Just think of the US singer Diane Warwick
- in the US all the letters in her surname are pronounced - in the UK
it is Warick.
As to the telephone number the older lady is trying to call - please
let us know what the format is - no need to give us all the number,
but both numbers and area codes have changed recemtly so sopmeone may
be able to help out if anything has changed.
