Much the same way someone would go about finding a wife in the early
2000s :))
I have ancestors who when they got married in the early
1800's were living in two different counties at the
opposite ends of England. I was wondering how they
could have meet and decided to get married, or is this
possibly a hint at an arranged marriage?
Arranged marriages were mainly the province of landed families, not
yer average ag lab.
How about this then:
Lad born in Somerset to a Devon mother, marries a Suffolk girl in
London, their Lincolnshire born dau marries a man from Notts in
Yorkshire while their Yorkshire born son married a Maid of Kent. The
Somerset born lad died in Essex.
Made up? Nope. My 4xgreat grandfather was that lad.
