How would someone go about finding a wife in the early
1800's?
I have ancestors who when they got married in the early
1800's were living in two different counties at the
opposite ends of England. I was wondering how they
could have meet and decided to get married, or is this
possibly a hint at an arranged marriage?
If you tell us
a) where your ancestors lived - and when
b) where they married -and when
c) any other details (names etc)- the 1841 census might give clues as to
occupations
we might be able to come up with suggestions.
