I have often wondered whether artwork for articles such as the NBI
makes a difference to the number of sales, and is therefore worth more
than a few minutes of anybody's time. <merely curious>>
I couldn't say what effect packaging has on sales of a product because
I've never done any serious marketing on the issue. However, rightly or
wrongly, it was decided the NBI should be presented in a prestigious-
looking package, which is why it comprises 4 CDs in a foldover box. I
designed in total 10 panels including the front and back cover, and the
design on the discs themselves. I can assure you this was not a few
minutes of anybody's time!
Interestingly, though, having spent much time on the London Group of
Yorkshire FHSs stand at the recent big Olympia show, we found that the
CDs with the most attractive and eye-catching covers and presentations
definitely outsold the more bland and boring ones.
