Hi everyone
Just a general question - I have been using the the site
www.genesconnected.co.uk
for the past couple of months and made lots of fabulous connections to
help my UK family history research come along; however, I have noticed
an increase in spyware and adware lodging itself on my computer and I
was wondering if anyone else using this site has found a similar
problem.
Using this site has been the only real change in my computer usage
over this period and my computer has slowed down dramatically.
Would appreciate any ideas.
Regards
Lisa
I don't think that GC will be the source of your problems. I had an
outbreak of spy & adware in 2005 on my then PC which was running
Windows 98SE.
A continuous stream of ringtone popups kept appearing, possibly
imported by a grandson's surfing.....
I eventually flushed out the culprit bugs using CW Shredder and
HijackThis.
My current PC uses Windows XP SP2, which is very resilient at keeping
these nasties out.
