FreeBMD shows a count of 127 deaths for first name 'June' before
1852. So there were a few around.

I think it more likely that there are 127 misreadings of the name - it is
very easily
done with an open a. I would be interested in any genuine evidence of
the name
before 1891.

As I said in my other message, I've looked at some of the scans of the
index, and some must be Jane because they are before John for the
same surname.

I notice too that some of the 'u's in the 'June's looked very like the 'u's
in the
first names whick look like 'Jumes' higher on the page, and those 'Jumes'
must
be James, and I'm inclined to agree that 'June's are likely to be 'Jane's.

I did notice an early marriage for a 'June' in a scan of a typewritten
index.
This one occurs after a Joseph for the same surname., so presumably not
just a typo as it's in the correct position for a June.
