Any suggestions as to why a birth might be re-registered and whether a
statutory time-limit applies. I'm thinking either adoption or
possibly the death of the father and the remarrying of the mother. The
event occurred after 1950. Any advice appreciated. V >
One potential reason is when a child is born out of wedlock and only the
mother's name appears on the original certificate. If the couple
subsequently marry, they might re-register the child and have the father
put on it as well.
