Lesley, I have looked in all those places, for years! but not knowing 'where' to look, and 'which' Alexander GEDDES is which, has flummoxed me.
Alexander was a debtor on the Isle of Man and I hoped for some help there, but all I have found is the following. "Alexander Scott Geddes whole property and possessions sold by coroner May 1832 to settle his debts." He was in Debtor's Prison Castle Rushen. He and the family moved to Liverpool and family is still there today.

Andrew, Jane ALLEYNE was a QUIRK, widow of an ALLEYNE. Samuel Richard Alleyne who was my GGGGrandfather, she married Alexander three years after Samuel died. Samuel was a Captain in the 11th Regiment of Foot.
Interestingly, Samuel Richard ALLEYNE, was also a Debtor in the same prison as Alexander!

1821 "Crediters of Samuel Richard Alleyne, now a prisoner in Castle Rushen, are notified that his petition for discharge as an insolvent debtor will be heard on 8th August...' The same newspaper published the following announcement on 25 February 1826: -
‘Died at Tipperary; Samuel Richard Alleyne of Golden; formerly of the 7th Dragoon Guards and lately Captain in the 11th Regiment of Infantry’.
Alexander Scott GEDDES is my 'brick wall'.
