How about Kinneigh? Cassell's Gazetteer (1894 edition, scanned at
Ancestry) says that it's a parish in Co. Cork, on the road from Cork to
Bantry, 8 miles ENE of Dunmanway.
Plenty of Google hits for Kinneigh, even one with some fragments of a
parish register transcribed!
Ancestry has a handful of other people in other censuses who give Kenna
Ireland as their birthplace. It's being very slow for me at the moment,
though, so I haven't tried looking to see what those people put down
for their birthplaces in other years. Might be an interesting strategy
though.

Any suggestions for Dennis Murray's place of birth in the 1901 census?

It looks like Kenna, but I can't find anywhere with that name in Co.Cork.
