How long it takes from a local office depends on the office. I've
waited more than 2 weeks for 3 from Colchester, and still no sign. I'm
regretting not using the GRO - at least there I have an idea of how
long I'm going to have to wait.

Guess I've been lucky then. any ordered direct from registry offices
generally take only 2-3 days
