Unfortunately I am looking for what seems to be one of the most common names in Birmingham - Whitehouse. My G Grandfather was William Whitehouse, born in Birmingham in 1850. I want to know who his mother was.His father's marriage(s) are a little unclear. His father was Ephraim Whitehouse, a hairdresser of Congreve Street Birmingham.
If you have time to look for this I would be most grateful. I am very wary of asking after recent posts!

am new here.
I have recently posted a question on another group about my ancestor
Ephraim Whitehouse, born 1815 in the St martin's area of Birmingham? As
an adult he was a hairdresser and lived at 33 Congreve Street
Birmingham. He married Emma Kirby. His father was Isaac Whitehouse.
Does anyone have any more information about this family? I am having
problems with this line of my family, largely because Whitehouse is a
very common name in the Birmingham area.

I note that you've previouly tried to tackle your problem at
http://www.rutnet.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3035
but am surprised that you haven't followed up on Robert Isaac who was
still at home in 1861 - his birth certificate should make things slighty clearer.
Looks like it... The IGI has this extraction...

Thanks a lot. The ages of the youngest two children are interesting - 4m
and 1m. Obviously a mistake somewhere! William was my G Grandfather, and
was definitely born in 1850.

Whitehouse - Birmingham
I am very keen to trace the ancestors of Ephraim Whitehouse 1844 - 1875 Birmingham. He was a hairdresser, living on Congreve Street. His son,William Whitehouse 1850 Birmingham became headmaster of Braunston village school in Rutland.
