I have a copy of a will dated 1596, written in 'Old English' The local

reaonable offer as I cannot read it.
My first will was from about 20 years later, and very difficult at
first. I still have problems with a line or two on the centre fold
(very torn) and a few words elswhere.
I worked at it slowly - laying out the lines and filling it in rather
like a crosswoprd puzzle - a word here and there at first.
Later I realised how formulaic wills tend to be. If one can read a
few words in a phrase, there's a good chance someone has put a will
transcription on the web with the same phrase, which may be possible
to find by googling for the bits of the phrase including the
additional keywords
will testament

where <date> was 1590, 1600, 1610.)
