Re: New UK genealogical site

I wish to thank K Doughty for trying to promote "The UK Genealogy Interests Directory"

K.D. I am sorry that you received some flak, and some people regarded your message as spam.

When I first started building the Site I posted a message to the newsgroup asking for advice on how I could make the site better. I had all sorts of helpful advice from many people.

If I remember correctly there was just one exception, Hugh W told me the best thing would be to close the site down and not bother. Hugh's negativity knocked me back a lot and nearly put me off altogther. I am surprised that 18 months later Hugh is attacking my site. I admit that I am not a regular reader of this newsgroup so I don't know If Hugh slags of all sites or if it is a personal thing against mine. Now that the site is better established and I receive emails from members praising the site on a daily basis. I am not put off by the very rare negative person or comment.

I noticed that there is some concern as to who I am. I am 36 years old married to Angela, and my occupation is a Maths Teacher. I live in a small village called Crawley Near Winchester. You can see a photo of me at www.julianandangela.co.uk
