It's yet another site doing the same a dozens like it.
The post arrives from someone calling themself 'SBD' while most postings have a clear identifier.
The source email while possibly quite genuine certainly look strange with all those x's
No surprise people jump to such conclusions. I see nothing on that site that excites me as being new or original thus to me it seems to be yet another place to fragment the available information even further.

While not wanting to disparage anyone, the way your message, which looks like an advert for the site, is presented I'm really not totally convinced you have no links to the site and its creator.

Interesting that all the ads on the home page are google

I will be blocking this thread

While I don't always agree with Hugh in this case my initial reaction was the same for all the above reasons.

I take extreme exception to this!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not promoting my OWN site. I am letting people know of something that is genuinely free and has been set up with the best of intentions to help all UK researchers. My site was mentioned only to let you know my post was NOT spam and that I am a genuine person who uses the site. I run a FHS with several hundred members worldwide. Do you belong to a FHS? Did it let you join for free, or do you pay a subscription????
I have entered all my own surname interests at ukgid for free, and have also started Forums on names that are not even my own interests to help people! I have encouraged quite a few people overseas who are descended from UK emigrants to use the Emigrants section there. This new site is excellent and I think it deserves to be well known!!

Why don't you just look at ukgid before making fatuous criticisms!!!!
It is really FREE and really useful. I have absolutely no connection with the site except for being a very impressed user!!!!

I run a FHS and one of my members told me about a new site on the net.
