I've recently found out that my mother's father married twice - the
second time to my mother's mother, something which my mum didn't even
know about.

But she knew about the first marriage? Weird!!

The problem I don't know how to solve is how to find out if they had
any children.
Can anyone help?

The details are:
Thomas Arthur Goddard (born c1903) and Edith Proctor. Married Q3 1928
in Worksop. Marriage dissolved prior to 1943.

Go through the birth indexes, looking for Goddards with mother's maiden
name Proctor. If there are any, go theough the marriage indexes looking
for any other Goddard/Proctor marriages. Then, if you do have
candidates, you'll probably have to buy one certificate to be certain.
