Having fished out a lot of details about my great grandfather Charles
Brazenall, with help from members of this newsgroup, I now want to find
information about his father, which strangely is proving much more
difficult than finding information about his mother.

But as Charles was his only child and I do not know where his father Thomas
(probably - b1836 m1863 d1869) was born. I can only work out a rough date
of birth from a likely death reference - where do I go next? I know of his
existance from his son's birth certificate - Thomas Brazenall, Occupation
Iron Shearer, living in Union Street, Tipton, Staffs.

If you know the mother's details then look for a marriage certificate.

A quick search on BMD for Thomas Brazenall married 1860-1863 Staffs gives:

BRAZENALL Thomas W. Bromwich, 6b 190 Jun/4 1863

Potential brides: Arabella Foulkes. Oddly there are 3 men and 1 woman on
this page.
