Hi Sharon
You need to be aware that the first time you visit Kew you
need to get a reader's ticket (take ID) which took at
least half an hour when I was there in 2002 and they also
take you on an orientation tour which I think was about
another half an hour. The tour is worth it but very
frustrating when you don't know about it, know what you
want to look at and don't have much time. ;) I assume it
is still the same anyway.
I don't think orientation tour is compulsory.
My ticket was out of date on my last trip. Took less than 5
minutes to get replacement.
IIRC you can apply for your readers' ticket online which speeds things up.
But remember that whatever ID you specify you must take with you!
Chris
