If you use System Restore to go back to an earlier, but recent, Checkpoint
it should put the file associations back where they were. You may need to
install Irfan again after doing this - and this time answer "no"!

Wouldn't it be a whole lot easier to open IrfanView, go to the
Options/Set file associations... menu and then look at the Extensions
tab and use the Clear all button.
