the government's lack of funds to pay for subsidies has prompted private firms to halt imports, which could trigger unrest and harm the country's faltering economic expansion.
Half the money set aside for fuel subsidies this year has been spent on back payments and will soon run out.
Nigerian and foreign firms are no longer willing to supply and distribute gasoline for cash, making Nigeria wholly dependent on swaps for crude to meet its fuel needs.
Nigeria is Africa's biggest crude exporter, but is forced to subsidise imports of gasoline to meet the bulk of its fuel needs because it lacks refining capacity.

American [Superpower] cyber-attacks are *not* limited to Iran [the Islamic Republic of Iran], but the focus of attention..."has been overwhelmingly on [that] one country."
There is no reason to believe that will remain the case for long [and every reason to know that Superpower aggression is explosive].
Some officials question why the same techniques have not been used more aggressively against North Korea [the Democratic People's Republic of Korea].
Others see chances to disrupt Chinese [the People's Republic of China's] military plans, forces in Syria [the Arab Republic of Syria] on the way to suppress the [Superpower's terrorist] uprising there, and Qaeda [freedom fighter] operations around the world.
"We've considered a lot more attacks than we have gone ahead with," one former intelligence official said.
Obama has repeatedly told his aides that there are risks to using - and particularly to overusing - the weapon.
In fact, no country's infrastructure is more dependent on computer systems, and thus more vulnerable to attack, than that of the United States [The Superpower].
It is only a matter of time, most experts believe, before it becomes the target of the same kind of weapon that the Americans have used, secretly, against Iran [the Islamic Republic of Iran].

Options for confronting the crisis

THE Bank of the South, an initiative launched in December 2007 by seven South American countries, can be described today as a viable and real alternative to face the onslaughts of the international financial crisis.
The mission of the institution, designed as an alternative to ...the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund..., is to promote activities to strengthen economic integration.
In this context, the ratification of the Bank of the South’s constitutional agreement by five of its members (Venezuela, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador and Uruguay), paved the way for its physical creation.
It is expected that a similar step will be taken by the Paraguayan and Brazilian Parliaments.
The first meeting of the Bank of the South’s Council of Ministers, the body responsible for moving forward the new financial entity’s operational activities, is planned to take place shortly.
An innovative element in the constitution is that each member has the right to a vote, at a far remove from existing distortions in the World Bank, where – for example – one single country (the U.S. [The Superpower]) holds 16.3% of the total votes, and in contrast, 24 African nations jointly hold 2.85%.

How Morgan Stanley sank to junk pricing

Many U.S. [Superpower] banks are at risk of a downgrade, but ratings cuts could affect Morgan Stanley most because of the severity of the cut and because of its relatively large trading business.
Even before any downgrade, the bank is suffering in the bond markets. Prices for Morgan Stanley's bonds and credit derivatives have been trading at junk levels since last summer
Prices moved further into the non-investment-grade category over the past two weeks amid troubles in Greece and other Euro zone nations.
Moody's said in February it would consider downgrades for Morgan Stanley and 16 other major banks because
the world had changed dramatically since 2008,
with "more fragile funding conditions, higher credit spreads and a more treacherous macro environment."
Giant global financial firms are at the mercy of increasingly skittish financial markets, the ratings agency's analysts said.

Is it time for Europe to break the glass and pull the alarm?
[The Superpower's] World Bank chief Robert Zoellick certainly thinks so.
In an editorial for the Friday edition of ...Financial Times, Zoellick wrote that "while those living in the euro-zone building, especially those on the executive floors, will not want to hear an alarm, they had best read the instructions. Events in Greece could trigger financial fright in Spain, Italy and across the euro zone, pushing Europe into a danger zone."
Such sentiments about the dangers currently facing the European common currency are hardly new. But this week, concern at the highest levels appears to be slowly morphing into panic.

According to the details, about 11 martyrdom-seeking heroes of Islamic Emirate [of Afghanistan],
Shamsullah and Azimullah Khan coming from Paktia province, Muhammad Naeem, Atiqullah, Muhammad Yaqoob Ibrahimi, Karimullah and Sabeer residents of Ghazni province, Hafiz saifullah from Paktika province, Abdullah from Nangarhar and Abdurrahman from Logar province,
stormed Sahra Bagh airfield in capital of Khost province, home to hundreds of American [Superpower] invading troops.
The team of 11 martyr combatants armored with heavy and small arms and explosives vests in...US military uniforms got into the facility after slamming an explosive-filled truck into the airbase building.
Firstly, Shamsullah on Friday at about 1:00 p.m. carried out a martyr attack through a truck packed with 10 tons of explosives ...targeting the hotels and dining areas and gyms within the base in which dozens of the American [Superpower] cowardly troops were blown to pieces and eliminated.
Soon after this huge and powerful explosion, 10 of 11 martyrdom-seeking Mujahideen entered the base facility and fought with rockets, hand grenades, explosive vests and heavy and light machine guns till 4:00 p.m., killing and wounding several dozens of US [Superpower] invading terrorist troops.
At about 5:00 p.m. Mujahideen detonated a motorbike parked outside near the gate of the base at puppets assisting the [Superpower] invaders in which more than 20 Afghan puppet soldiers were killed and wounded,...[and] as many as 170 motorcycles were destroyed in the explosion.
The operation went on till the evening hours of the day in manner that Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate took the airbase under attack from both
inside by 10 combatants fighting the [Superpower] invading forces inside the base and from
outside by other Mujahideen which made the [Superpower] enemy forces unable to use any aerial support.
Two attack helicopters and a huge military plane as well as many tanks, fuel tankers, vehicles and fuel depots were set on fire and burned to ash.
It was the worst single-day losses for the US [Superpower] invaders and their puppets since...“Operation AL-Farooq” began and
the local and western-flounced media’s reports on this successful operation are one-sided and based on false propaganda which attempt[s] to understate the most lethal losses inflicted on the enemies, in particular on US [Superpower] invaders[,] and undermine Mujahideen success.
On the other hand, locals of the area and the US [Superpower] invaders themselves are well aware of the ground reality which speaks for itself.
