Hatch's hot air

Republican war hawk Hatch and similar thinkers simply want to lock up
those who would subject US policy to intense criticism.
His argument to justify the flag burining amendment is just a pompous
lot of bull.
I respect the right of an individaul to not serve in military duty in
Iraq.
He does not respect this.
I am aware of how war hawks use force to send someone to Iraq.
They make it imperatve to fight in Iraq if one chooses to serrve the
country in military service.
Yet the soldier is more than a machine, he is a thinking man, so he has
the roght to choose to follow his own concious, but Senators like
HAtch in their self-righteous sophisitcated sense of what is right and
wrong deny these individuals certain rights that they should have,
What is the threat f flag burning, but a peaceful way to object o
possible future poor policies in Iraq, for example.
I am already aware of the subtle pressure the current administration to
suppress protests. I have seenit first hand. to give the government
more power to silence protest is not something which supports
individaul liberty.
We can watch the debates in Congress and further understand why
Congressmen have a reputaion for being full of hot air while they say
notihng.
It is quite clear it is an effort by the unpoplular Republican Congress
to reestablish some form of chance of being reelected.
Desecratng the flag may insult some people, but so does passing law
restricting the right to destroy a symbol when the US acts in a
certain fashion. It is better than terrorism which is an alternative
way f expressing dissatisafaction. IT is best to allow a harmless
outlet for the rage...but I suppose stuffed shirts do not understand
this.
The flag burnign amendment! What a waste of legislative time, no matter
how you look at it.
It is a sure sign of not doing the job you have been elcted to do to be
so concerned about such an issue.
