Drifting in the middle of the ocean on a raft and not knowing how one got
there is hardly enjoyable, but to find oneself without any memory at all is
far far worse.
I was lying there trying to remember my name while things I could remember
kept popping up into my head, only to be gone a moment later. It frustrated
me.
Since I had nothing better to do I just kept trying to sort out the mess in
my head. I hadn't made much progress when I heard the sound of waves hitting
a much larger object then the raft I was lying on, and not much later the
sound of men's voices from above.
I opened my eyes, only realizing at that moment that I had closed them. What
I saw frightened me; I saw a huge ship, crewed only by men and one big black
flag with a skull on it. I saw a vague memory of some kind, but before I
could think more of it, it had disappeared leaving me with a headache.
I looked around frantically for some way to escape, but unless I wanted to
dive in possibly shark-infested water I was safer on my raft. That is how a
few minutes later a couple of rough looking men found me when they came down
in a rowing boat to fetch me.
I saw the tallest one look me over with a sickening grin on his face. He
said something to the other men occupying the boat with him, and although I
couldn't understand it, it didn't sound pleasant. Determined not to show how
scared I was I looked him straight in the eye. At first he seemed startled
but he soon recovered. Leaning over the right side of the little boat he
scooped me up using one meaty arm and dumped me ungracefully onto the boat
floor. My wrists and ankles where quickly tied up, what harm they thought I
could do against the 5 of them I did not know.
Soon enough we reached the ship, it was huge. I tried to remember what I
knew about ships, but I didn't come up with much. It seemed as though I had
limited knowledge about ships.
By now it was going dark and I could slowly see the sun disappear under the
horizon as I was ungracefully hoisted onto the shoulder of one of the
pirates. If I had not been weak and tired I would have protested and said
that I could climb the ladder fine on my own, but as it was I just let him
carry me up the ladder towards the deck of the ship without
