Cold weather hits Chiang Rai areas

Eighteen districts in the northern province of Chiang Rai are declared
as cold-affected areas.
Chiang Rai governor Preecha Kamonbutr said villagers affected most
from the cold weather are hill bribes, which account for 400,000 out
of 1.3 million population in the province.

He added the provincial office has called on non-governmental
organisations and private sectors to provide warm clothes and
assistance to them.
The government provided 50 million baht for each province affected by
the cold weather in order to assist villagers.
