Yet another bus accident

7 killed, over 40 injured when bus veers off mountainside

Prachin Buri - An air-conditioned bus veered off a moutainside,
killing seven people, one of them a foreigner, police said.

Police said the Nong Khai-Rayong lost control and veered off the road
while it was speeding down a mountain road in Nadee district at 2 am.

The bus fell down about 15 metres down the mountainside, police said.

Seven people died at the scene and one of them was an unidentified
foreigner.

Over 40 passengers were injured and rushed to the Wang Nam Khiew and
Nadee hospitals.

You take your life in your hands when you board one of these buses.
During three recent trips to Buriram we saw numerous cases of crazy,
stupid, suicidal driving by the "drivers" of these buses, overtake on
a blind bend? no problem at all, pull out to overtake other buses
when traffic is approaching from the other direction? mai mii panhaa.
they just flash their headlights and everyone has to get out of their
way.
