Re: Thailand tells Thaksin to stay away

It's not right to say that "Thailand" is telling Thaksin to stay away
when it's only the present non-elected government that is telling the
ousted leader to stay away. Many Thai people are actually missing him
now. More will feel the same way in the months to come.

Thailand's defence minister says the country's ousted prime minister Thaksin
Shinawatra should only return home after elections, to prevent any eruption of
"chaos".

General Boonrawd Somtas also says he's not convinced by Mr Thaksin's claims that
he has no plan to return to political life.

The former prime minister has been living in exile since he was ousted in a
bloodless coup last September.

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont said Mr Thaksin was welcome
to come home if he stayed out of politics.
