Khun Sriprai says that he said he used to drive his neighbours around
free of charge, but with
the extra expense he now had to either turn them down or charge them,
and this has cost him "friends"

Pheuan kin haa ngaai, Pheuan taai haa yaak
เพื่ือนกินหาง่ายเพื่อนตายหายาก
Friends who'll eat with us(at our expense)are easy to find, but friends
willing to die for us are hard to find.
English equivalent "fair weather friends"?
