Re: Spectators the target

The two-day exercise, which ended yesterday, was open to the public to
show the capability of soldiers in search-and-rescue operations and
their shooting skills. The tragedy occurred when soldiers aimed their
M-16 rifles at the spectators and after they pulled the trigger, Sgt
Thanarat collapsed to the ground.

Nick although I only have limited experience of military matters, the
whole thing (if exactly as reported) smacks of poor leadership,
pathetically bad training and plain stupidity.
