civilized compared to places like France, where demonstrators opposed to a
new labour law have at times clashed with police.
"You compare this to the mob in France, it?s totally different," he said

busiest shopping district by spreading mats across the street to picnic and

Thanks for the articles.
I could chuckle at the 'admiration' of the Thai journalist if the
situation was not so tense in both countries.
Last tuesday, there were THREE MILLIONS of demonstrators in France.
In the city where I live, there were as many protesters as in the
Bangkok streets, ... but my town is 50 times smaller!
Since their last success in 2002, the Chirac's minions have lost each
election or polls they took part. And I won't talk about corruption,
electoral fraud or gross disinformation by the local media, not
because they are non-existent in France but because you can find lots
of articles about this.
It's impossible to make a comparison between so different countries.
At least, the French have no foreign "friends" to tell them bluntly
how stupid they are to have voted for the present politicians.
