Price of a vote
Which brings me to wonder, what is the price of a vote in Thailand? Seems to
be roughly a day's pay. 200 baht is being paid up country, which is about a
day's pay depending on if the person is an unskilled laborer (usually 180 to
200 baht per day in my area). 500 baht is being paid to Bangkokians who show
up at the Jatujak rally, which may be a day's pay for a noodle vendor but a
little shy of a day's pay for even my niece whose starting salary fresh out
of the university is higher than that.
