I am from India. Age 67 Male Single Unmarried.
I contemplate visiting Thailand. Nothing concrete. Before such a
visit I wonder whether it would be possible to meet someone
interesting - a travel companion in Thailand - a young lady.
It is also possible that my prospective friend may intend to visit
India. In that case I am her companion here.
Either way I desire casual friendship with a Thai lady.

This might not be the best place to ask such a question - no doubt the
scathing replies will soon begin to follow . . . .
I personally found that opening an ICQ account and listing Thailand as an
interest brought a number of responses from both genders who said they
wished to practice their English.
Many were evidently after something different, but I ended up with about 5
regular contacts who actually were looking for no more than a friend, and
were willing to meet me and show me around their home towns during my first
visit.
Of these, all but one were women, and they proved to be very respectable,
honest and very pleased to exchange the chance to practice listening and
speaking for a few days acting as guide.
If you have sufficient time to try this and to suitably analyse the
responses you receive, then perhaps you might try that.
I am assuming that your intentions are honourable, and if you maintain a
level head and take care then you might find some good friends.
