Re: (off topic) US Airforce will not leave

If the Americans want permanent bases in Iraq it means permanent war
and a permanent terrorism problem. This is the neocon thinking. They
are inspired by Trosky's permanent revolution. They like this endless
upheaval. For the rest of us, it means that there will be no solution
to the Islamist problem. I don't know if a solution was in sight
(probably not) but as long the war in Iraq goes on it will only get
worse. Think of the Soviet Union and Afghanistan. A long bloody war
followed by defeat for the superpower.
