This one is taking its sweet time to get here. At 11:30AM this morning flooding
was just starting to come into the old Chiang Mai Lamphun Road. It's clear the
sandbagging and mud-earth dam reinforced by sandbags at one point may keep the
flooding over here on the east side of the river lower for a while.
According to what "She Who Must Be Obeyed" tells me ... she's listening to Thai
radio ... the Ping is up 90 cm. in the last hour, and the bridge (main bridge
Kaew Nawarat ?) is closed. Heavy rains are reported in Chiang Dao area which
will bring more water down here in four hours or so. The radio reports flooding
in the Night Bazaar main street (Thanon Changklan). Along the east side of the
river in the area of the Riverside night club restaurant flooding is heavy.
Still don't have a sense of how bad this one will be compared to the one last
month (severe) and last week (less severe). As of yet no water in the small and
major sois around me.
