A light in the darkness. :-)

I find it interesting that a lot of politicians (Landrieu (sp) from LA,
Clinton, other Democrats) immediately drop partisan politics in light
of this emergency and join together with Bush and others to try to
solve problems. But a few extremists (Kennedy, as you mention) just
can't resist trying to earn political points. Read the NY Times for a
bunch more examples.
