Re: See how pathetic they are inpsecting their SMRT trains

The impression is SMRT is having a serious leadership issue.

For example, why is the transport minister speaking and explaining on behalf of SMRT ? Shouldn't SMRT speak up for itself ?

In addition, if SMRT staff and drivers care for their passengers, shouldn't the SMRT allow their staff to be more proactive and take initiative to solve problems on the ground when it appears such as providing updated information and some relief or reassurance ?

As for the deployment of SMRT shuttle services, shouldn't the prescribed route be clear, concise and easy to follow ? How did it became so complicated until bus drivers are not clear where to pick and drop passengers ? Perhaps in future it is better to outsource SMRT shuttle service to private bus companies. There are no shortage of private bus operators if the right monetary incentives can be provided.

In recent years SMRT has been beefing up in front end but those working in back end such as service support and maintenance can't seem to keep up. SMRT is like a store that look good at the front with greeters smiling but those at the back are working furiously just to keep pace.

Frankly my suggestion to SMRT is bring back all bus services running parallel to the current SMRT route as well as bypassing all affected stations in city area until the stabilised the system and let private bus operators temporarily run those routes within the city area.

It also confirm that the whole rail network especially N-S portion is unable to withstand the total passenger load and the intense train frequency.

Just looking at the pciture of how their pathethic way of inspecting
the train's collecting shoes under the train carriage using of poorly-
lit torch light in their poorly-lit yard is enough to show how their
quality of work and workdone are carried out.

Just a good look at the person in the pciture doing the inspection of
that job showed how poor quality of the people is on the gorund. And
for all we know this person in the picture is a temp or a contract
labour under the glorified as contract staff.

No wonder why all our ITE and polytechnic graduates had got fed up of
doing these kinds of lowly paid jobs because they were not able to be
elevated as engineer and were not paid as engineer but it was not the
same for foreign talents of dubious or substandard qualifications as
they can be made as engineers and technicians and other glorified
titles whom they wished not to lose their jobs by their cheapskate
employers .
