I wonder why the police and courts are clueless. It’s very easy for
these syndicate woman to brush up against these tipsy men and claims
to be molested or a third party could trip the man who would
instinctively grab the syndicate woman standing in front. I think the
pub bouncers could also be in the syndicate’s payroll. The court cases
could only be just the tip of the iceberg as many men who fall prey to
these syndicates pay up immediately to avoid further embarrassment.

Lawyers in Singapore say they are seeing more men settling cases of
molest with cash to avoid criminal record.

In one case, an engineer, 36, was cutting his way across the dance
floor of a Clarke Quay club earlier this year when a 23-year-old woman
accused him of touching her buttocks.

The bouncers stepped in. The police showed up. And though he claimed
he did not touch the woman, he ended up paying S$8,000 to settle the
case.

"I didn't want trouble and I didn't know what my company and wife
would think if they found out,' he said in an e-mail reply to The
Straits Times. 'That was my only way out."

Recruitment executive Austin Charles Arnold Cowburn, 35, had
compounded the matter by paying $5,000 to the 30-year-old woman, who
was in court with her husband.

Mr Cowburn, originally accused of grabbing her buttocks at China One
Pub at Clarke Quay on April 3, apologised to the woman in open court.

He was on holiday here when the alleged offence took place. He said
outside court that he was looking forward to going back to Britain,
and to seeing his mother and father. Anyone convicted of outrage of
modesty may be jailed for up to two years, fined, caned or received
any combined punishment

It seems widespread as I had also heard about this kind of extortion
by conspiring up a molest case on the man by the victim and her
syndicated team of witnesses in the group in nailing the accused to
the end of the "wall".

Additionally, the staff like waitressess and waters and bouncers are
involved on the take share the keep from the extortion of money from
the victim accused of molesting.

advisory advice to its visitors and citizens in Singapore. You can
check the advisory on their websites.

Some friends came across one Kaorake pub in Chinatown which is on the
Oriental building on the 5th floor of the former Oriental Theatre
located at the junction New Bridge road and Kreta Ayer Road above New
Fashion Store that has a colourful poster on molest.

It is posted on the glass panel wall on the outside of its entrance
door. The colour poster gives a warning saying that ".......but
careful....as molest will give you "a life of regrets".

By this poster, it shows that the management is good and caring in
doing its part in warning its customers of such offence like "molest
and its lifetime of regrets".

As the management of the pub cannot determine and control its
customers entering its pub - whether they are customers or "molest
extortioners", the management of pub is now using the poster as a
media to remind a warning its customers.

The gentle warning on its posters is to remind its customers to be
conscious and be aware of their own behaviours with those of their
free-lance part-time self-employed employees that are so-called as
"guest relations officers. It is also meant to tell them to watch out
for their indiscretion of molests..

The management of the pub has no management control over their
"accusing" behaviours on men. These self-employed "guest relations
managers" or others called them "social chit chat women" who came to
the pub to chat up with men.

Most pub needs them as they need free-lance girls and women to come to
their pubs to cheer up their male customers.

This in turn the men give them tips for their time siting to chat with
you. The customer also paid for their drinks whic they get a cut on
the pub management on their price of the drink

It can also mean to say to the men that a mistake of indiscretion of
molesting on them will mean a life time of regrets. The matter can be
seriously affected, as embassy of western coutnries have already put
up warning to its people to be careful with them.
